Are you ready to get started on the tinting project for your building?
Tinting your windows can bring a lot of benefits. It can
increase the energy efficiency
of your building, protect you from UV rays, and improve your privacy.
But what kind of tint should you purchase? We will give your options in this post.
Keep reading to learn what types of window tints you have to choose from.
1. Dyed Window Tint Film
If you are on a budget then dyed window tint film is a great option.
This tint has a dye placed to the adhesive which blocks UV rays from the sun. The dye blocks the rays by absorbing them before they enter the home.
While this film is more economical, it is also less functional. The tint doesn't provide as much heat reduction as other tints, and there is still some visibility on the outside.
Unfortunately, the die does fade over time and will lose color. You will need to have maintenance on this type if you want it to last.
2. Metal Tint
Unlike dyed tint that absorbs heat, the metalized tint will reflect the heat away. To accomplish small particles that are invisible to the naked eye make up part of the tint.
With these films, you won't have to worry about them losing color and efficiency over time.
A significant drawback to metal tint, however, is the interference with your devices. If you rely on cellular signals, GPS, or any other device that communicates then you may come across interference because of your tint.
If you go with this option, then make sure that you can handle signal interference.
3. Carbon Window Tint Film
For better results, you can try carbon tint. It provides up to 40% heat reduction and doesn't come with the drawback of interfering with your devices.
Carbon often comes with a dark, matte finish which looks better on windows than a solid color.
4. Ceramic Tint
Ceramic film is the strongest
of the window tint options that we will cover. It is also the most expensive.
This type of film contains ceramic particles that are both nonconductive and nonmetallic, and it helps to block up to 50% of heat.
Like carbon tint, all your electronics such as GPS and mobile reception should work without any interference.
5. Privacy Tint
Your goal for home or
commercial window tinting
maybe for privacy reasons instead of energy concerns. You can accomplish this with privacy tint.
This tint will allow light to continue into the building but distorts it to make seeing in from outside impossible. Depending on your preference, you can make your entire window look black.
6. Decorative Tint
If you don't want a plain black window, you can also a little decoration.
You can change your tint in ways standard glass can't. Feel free to add logos, scenery, patterns, or anything else. The sky is the limit here, so be creative!
